On the evening of 17 July, ITV News Meridian told a story that means more to us than most people watching at home will ever know. It's the story of how Dayman built Zilla, and why he does what he does.
Back in 2020, Dayman survived being stabbed. The martial arts training he'd spent years building is what got him and his family through what came after. Rather than let that be the end of the story, he turned it into the reason for everything that came next: a place where that same training, discipline and support could be passed on to others.
That's the story ITV came down to Maidstone to tell. Not just a martial arts club, but a permanent home built from something that once nearly took everything.
