Boxing at Zilla is led by Head Boxing Coach Kane Roye. Drawing on over a decade of combat sports experience, Kane ensures his students develop a complete striking toolkit, with boxing forming the precision foundation that ties everything together.
Kane's boxing sessions focus on the fundamentals that separate good strikers from great ones: proper stance and guard position, the full range of punches and combinations, defensive movement (slipping, rolling, parrying), and the ring intelligence that comes from competitive experience. Sessions progress from bag work and pad rounds to technical sparring, always at a pace appropriate to your level.
The morning conditioning sessions are ideal for people who want the fitness benefits of boxing training without the sparring element. The evening technique and sparring sessions build toward competition readiness for those who want to take it further. Kane structures all sessions to be inclusive of every level: beginners train alongside experienced fighters, with the intensity and complexity scaled individually.
Boxing is the most transferable martial art. The footwork, head movement, and punching mechanics developed in boxing training carry directly into MMA, Muay Thai, and self-defence. Many of our members train boxing alongside another discipline for exactly that reason. And from a pure fitness standpoint, boxing training is one of the most complete workouts available anywhere.
